I was hired at Spotify in 2015 after four years as a music programmer at radio stations in Hamburg and Berlin. The company had just localized its services in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (GSA), and I landed a job on their editorial team. As a music curator, I supported Spotify’s growth from a startup to a music industry leader when music streaming was still developing.
I played a crucial role in creating and curating the playlist network for the GSA region, identifying, analyzing, and executing new playlist hypotheses in various genres for various audiences, moods, and moments.
I specialized in curating local and global Pop music and was responsible for the region’s biggest and most popular playlists, including New Music Friday and Top Hits (now Hot Hits) Deutschland. My playlist placements have been responsible for some of the biggest international Hits. For example, Dennis Lloyd’s global success with “Nevermind” in 2018 started with me placing the track in one of the playlists I was curating - Swag:
“The Israeli singer-producer was shocked when his single [...] was added to a German Spotify playlist titled “Swag” and began to gain momentum in the country. “Spotify wasn’t available in Israel, so he had no idea [his song was performing well on the platform],” says Lloyd’s manager, Josh Fluxgold. After getting traction in Germany, “Nevermind” spread to Italy; months later, thanks to a focused push, the single reached Number Three on Alternative Radio in the U.S.”
In 2019, I relocated from Berlin to Los Angeles for the role of Senior Editor on the Global Hits team, curating Today's Top Hits and Pop Rising, among other global high-priority playlists. Then, in the middle of a global pandemic and after six years as a curator, I switched roles and joined the Global Editorial Strategy. I oversaw the editorial execution of the Wrapped campaign, acting as a point of contact for local editors and guiding them in localizing content strategies and playlist hypotheses.
I developed the global editorial strategy for the newly created EQUAL music program, focusing on women in music to foster equity for women in audio and celebrate their global contributions. We launched the EQUAL music program by establishing a new playlist franchise with local versions in 50 different Spotify markets. With this project, I oversaw all editorial aspects of the campaign, including developing ideas, formulating content strategy, and editorial positioning. I am immensely proud to have contributed to the launch of this important music program.
In collaboration with the Editorial Design team, I established new playlist brandings and design hierarchies and streamlined the communication between the local markets and the Design team, increasing engagement and retention for Spotify’s editorial playlists and programs.

After seven years, I left Spotify in 2022. And took a deep breath.
I went on a sabbatical and lived in Puerto Rico for a few months. I am still working on my Spanish skills (thanks Duolingo for teaching me important conversation bits like “Los búhos lavaron el piso de la cocina”).
In 2023, I launched my consulting business, rediscovered my love for web design, and adopted the sweetest German Shepherd with my husband. I’m happy and fortunate to call Los Angeles my forever home. The city drives and inspires me every day. I am always looking for new opportunities and challenges, never shy to take a leap of faith, and always moving forward.
